Benelli Nova vs SuperNova

benelli

The Nova is a straight pump gun in 12 or 20ga. The SuperNova has several barrel options - slug, tactical, etc. - that are available for it. I do not know if those options will fit the Nova. I suspect not.

The Nova has an integral stock and receiver composed of polymer with a steel "skeleton". The Supernova has the ability to swap stocks, comfortech or pistol grip tactical stock, and a bigger triangular trigger guard. Both models use the same barrels and buttpads.

The Nova also has an optional mercury insert for the stock to reduce recoil, since it does not come with a ComforTech stock.

And a follow-up for that....wouldn't see the need for a recoil reducing device given ComforTech stock. It does a nice job on the slugs that I shoot.

Maybe its just me

but, I've noticed that the Nova is about $100.00 cheaper than the Super Nova (at least around Peoria, IL). Besides that I think the only difference is that you can not change the stock on a Nova.

As far as the barrel goes I thought you could interchange the barrels from a SN to a regular Nova. Does any one who owns/has owned both give me a definitive answer on this ?
