was looking at one of these in the shop today...wondering whats a fair used price on them in 9/10 condition.. any other info or experiences with them also appreciated

Is it a Nova or Super Nova? Both are good shotguns but the Nova pump action has a forend that rattles enough to make me really dislike it. Everyone of them that I've handled has done it.

good to know... it is the nova (pump) not the super (auto)

They're both pumps actually. The SuperNova has the comfortech stock, and maybe a few other differences; I'm not sure.

Personally I am attached to my Nova! I picked one up used (looked to be unfired) at a local pawn shop after a bit of haggleing for $350 OTD.
It has the duck style camo on it too.
It has a super fast action on it for a pump.
When you push the action release, the forend actually springs downward....it's nice. They are kind of wobbly, which isn't a big deal to me.
Because just about every pump shotgun I have ever handled has had some type of play in the forearm. It doesn't affect the gun enough to worry about.
They also chamber 3.5 shells. I don't shoot 3.5s but it's nice to have the option. This is my one for all seasons.

Only the very early versions had issues with forearm rattle. That has been corrected on all versions. The Nova has the buttstock and receiver all in 1 piece. You cannot change out the stock. The only difference in the Supernova is that the buttstock can come off and replaced. I'd save the money and get the Nova if It were me.

Great gun! First shotgun I ever bought and it was and still is a great purchase. You can use it for almost any application. Mine busts clays, goes hunting, and of course is just a great looking gun! These are easy to break down have minimal malfuntions(never had one with mine). You really can't go wrong it will last many generations...

A solid price would be anywhere around the $350 range. Let us know if you get it! You wont be disapointed.

They sell for 369 new here at bass pro would never in a million years pay 350 for a used nova when I can get a used wingmaster for the same price or better in some case. Novas IMO are cheap and uncomfortable shotguns. To each is own I suppose:rolleyes:
