gentlemen

gander mt is selling the montefeltro 20 ga for 1149.00 although its a benelli,
i hesitate to buy it because even benelli has to cut the quality somewhere on this gun, its new, and the retail is 1249.00, it looks good but looks are deceiving when it comes to guns
i need some knowledgeable input about this shotgun, please advise.

thanks

make no mistake, it's a GREAT gun!! Not so much for clay targets, it's great on live birds. It will beat you up a little on the clay range. I said a little... :) one of the best auto 20's on the market...

I have had one for a few years and it is my grouse shotgun, Very light so a joy to carry. If it fits you and you want a lightweight semi auto it’s a good one.

Nothing wrong with it ....I see a few of them around my gun club. They have the standard model ...and a silver model that is more money ...but I believe internally, they are the same.

Personally, I prefer the Benelli Super Sport in a 20ga ...with the comfort tech stock in it ...28" barrel, crio chokes and around 6.2 lbs so its very light as well - when I want to shoot a semi-auto in 20ga. But its a little more expensive.

None of the Benelli's with wood stocks - will have the "Comfort Tech" recoil supression system in them ...so it will give you more recoil than a "gas operated" gun ...and its light / which means more recoil too. But I don't think its a bad choice at all.

It takes a real man --- to shoot an ugly gun !!

( I know the Super Sports are ugly ...but my grandkids think they're very cool ...) ....

I have all these fancy Browning O/U's in the safe ...and my grandson and his fraternity brother show up to go shooting ...and he wants to show his buddy my pair of Super Sports in 12ga and 20ga ....not the fancy grade VII Turkish Walnut stocked Brownings.../ they're for us old guys...

i bought one for my wife a couple years ago in the silver variety. very nice gun, handles great, light and points well for those days in the field chasing the dogs.
