i was at the local outfitter yesterday and played with all the semi auto shotguns and the m2 was the only one that really felt great. i came home and tried to look up benelli's website for info on it and try to see what the diff. is between that and the sbe but it wouldn't let on the site without some special software(flashplayer 8). how does the m2 compare to the beretta 391 urika and the franchi I12. if anyone has one could you let me know good bad whatever and hows the recoil on it. It feels almost as light as my pump, was curious if it would kick the same or what. i would be using it mostly for weekend clay pigeons maybe a few at a gun club and pheasant hunting thats prolly about it let me know what you think of this gun for my uses here. the guy at scheels was being a typical salesman and i dont know if he was telling me what i want to hear or not please let me know what everyone thinks thanks a lot!!

I've got an M1 which is the model before the m2. They are great guns. They are very light in the recoil. The difference really between them and the super black eagles is that the super black eagle will hold a 3 and a half in shell while the m1 and 2 only hold a 3 inch. Either way both are great guns. I've never had a jam or anything fail on my benelli. i've had it for about 10 years

Recoil is not as soft as gas operated guns, but much better than a pump. Its a zip to clean after 500 rds! Mine has been 100% out of the box, shooting clays. The only problem I've had is the gun patterned high. Put my full choke in, and a turkey load shot from 30yrds, my pattern was a good 10 inchs high to center of the pattern. The 8 ball size dot I was aiming at would only have a shot or two in it, everything else was high. I called Benelli, they had me change the stock shim from B to C and are sending me a larger front Bead to compensate the rest. We'll see I guess. Picked mine up at Cabelas, $999. Apply for the Club card and you'll get another $100 off. Out the door for $899.

M-2

I've got one with a 24" barrel and absolutely love it. I've had it about three weeks. Killed 4 turkeys with it, 200+ starlings, 5 rounds of sporting clays and 7-8 rounds of 5-stand. I shoot reloads that the book says are 1235 fps with 1 oz. of shot. I've shot some 1 1/8 ounce loads, but do better with the 1 oz. The gun "jumps" instead of "kicks" you. The Comfortec stock really works.

I've had two 391's and they are good guns. I've had several 1100's and 11-87's and they are good guns too. I like the M-2 the best. Just shoot it and put it in the case. Very low maintenance. I recommend it.

i have been reading a few things like on a benelli forum. i heard it two different places and they had a problem with the point of impact was shooting high or something and they had to put a shim in there and a bigger front bead. i guess my question is do the shims come with the gun when you buy it? and is this a normal thing in buying a shotgun or is it like everything else once in a while you get a lemon?? the last shotgun i bought was my mossberg over 10 years ago so i am trying to find out as much as i can before i spend 1000 on a new gun. sorry for being annoying and i appreciate the help!!!

Wait for the Remington CT105. All the magazine reports say it is the best shooting autoloader in a long time. It should be out this summer.

Shims come with the gun, they allow you to adj the drop of the stock. Just extra goodies to customise the gun to the shooter. Some perfer the gun to shoot a little high for clays and hunting birds. I installed a larger bead from Benelli to bring my pattern down to center on fixed targets. To my surprise I tried some slugs at 40 yards with the Imp Cly choke, dead on with the bead. A very nice group for regular rifled slugs in a smooth bore. No need for a slug barrel with this one. Super nice gun, I highly recommend.
