Benelli M2 vs Beretta 1301?

Hey gang! I'm looking for a tactical semi-auto shotgun. I want a short one with 18.5" barrel.

Which one is better, the Benelli M2 or the Beretta 1301?

Which one kicks less? Which one is most reliable? Which is the better all around "combat" shotgun?

PS: If you have another choice, please let me know if you think it's superior to the above shotguns.

My dream would be the Benelli M3 if you are asking for better suggestions.

Edit: Have limited experience with this platform, only shot it once. But its ability to be both semi auto and pump is pretty cool.

The "kick" is subjective. To me, the 1301 has a sharper recoil.

Both are reliable, but I prefer the M2.
