Benelli M1 Super 90 Q's

Hi all,

I just took home a pre-ban M1 Super 90. 20" cylinder bore barrel, pistol grip, rifle sights with the 7-shot mag. Ser # M090XXX, in very good condition for $500.

Questions,

Is there an internet resource that could give me an import/build date? I've e-mailed Benelli asking for an owner's manual, but haven't got a reply yet. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

The gun will not cycle Fiocchi low-recoil buckshot. Anyone replaced the recoil spring with a Wolff Gunsprings unit? Will the gun cycle S&B buckshot? How about the Wolf buckshot? Both can be had for reasonable prices...

Anyone have experience with this speedloader system? I've seen a similar unit (perhjaps the SAME unit?) on Benelli's new "Practical" shotgun.

Thanks
:)

Thanks for the reply,

I checked out the info at Patriot Arms...my gun was definitely made before December of '92. I wonder when they started making the M1 S90's?

The speedloader, I plan on using this gun at local bowling pin shoots, fast reloads are good :)

Speedloaders are unreliable, and tend to spit rounds out onto the ground.

a three round unit would be great, since they could be made more reliable.

Just to add a bit of info, I contacted Benelli today, and a manual is in the mail (I hope!)

The gun, serial number M0903XX was manufactured in May of 1990.
