Benelli m series question?

Was reading up on the Benelli M4 and read it has something like a magazine cut off, meaning that if the bolt is cycled manually a shell in the chamber would be ejected but nothing would be fed from the tube.

A shell would feed if the hammer had been dropped or if the cartridge release button had been pressed.

Do the Benelli m1, m2 or m3 have this feature?

It's the Italian LAW ! Actually I like it because you can empty the chamber [for various reasons] without going through the trouble of emptying the magazine tube !

I ask as my Benelli m3 doesn't have this feature, nothing mentioned in the manual. Or it could be broken.

If anyone who has an m3 can chime in would be greatly appreciated.

RF11 ... you are correct and the reason for that is that our M3s are convertibles of course. Think about it for a moment and you'll understand why.

Thanks for all the help, thought the m3 might have the feature as something was mentioned on another forum.

A few years ago I bought a used Franchi Shotgun. I took it out just to make sure it worked. I put three rounds into it and it cycled flawlessly. Then I reloaded it and decided to unload it. I pull the bolt back and that round ejects. But the rounds in the tube would not come out. I thought that I had a defective gun or for some stupid reason it was designed so that you had to shoot it to empty it.

Being that it was a used gun, I didn't have the manual. I have since had Fracnhi send me one.

The gun shop were I purchased the gun from pointed out a little lever that must be depressed to empty the gun. That was a relief.
