I was just wondering if anyone knows the difference between Benelli, Franchi, and Stoeger guns!! Are they all built by the same company, what makes one brand better than the others, and do Franchi or Stoeger offer a semi-auto 3 1/2" like the Benelli Super Black Eagle?? I rarely hear anything about Franchi or Stoeger, has anyone shot these, and are they as reliable as Benelli or not?? Any information would be great!!
Thanks

My buddy has a semi-auto Franchi and its a really good looking gun but I've never been very impressed with the function. I kicks a little hard for my taste too especially considering that it is a semi-automatic.

Benelli & Franchi autoloaders have a great reputation, the Stoegers on the other hand do not share that same reputation.

I believe they are three completely seperate companies with seperate factories, just all of the the money all gets funnelled back to the "parent" company.

Similar to the recent purchase of Remington, they're "parent" company also owns Bushmaster, I don't think that Bushmaster will be making 11-87's any time soon.

If I remember right, Stoeger is actually the importer of guns...at least with some certain handguns that was the case. Not sure about shotguns.

Being all under the umbrella of Beretta, they do now have the benefit of sharing technology. I think Smitty is correct in that they still operate their own respective companies individually (Stoeger getting their guns from I think Vursan in Turkey.) Whether the internal parts all come from the same source (most likely Benelli), who knows?

Beretta is the parent company.

I own two Franchi autoloaders. One is a gas-gun (20 guage). Not very reliable. the other (28 guage) is recoil operated, and is totally reliable.

Choke-tubes between my Franchis, Beretta and Benelli are interchangeable.

Stoeger, Benelli and Franchi all offer slightly different versions of the "inertia" style autoloader. I haven't shot one yet. Every gun writer in the world seems to think they're the best thing since sliced cheese.

If some manufacturer wants to give me free guns and ammo, I'll have good things to say about them too.....!!
