Belt Recommendation

Can someone recommend a reasonably priced / quality (best bang for the dollar) gun belt for CC and/or OC. The less "tacticool" the better!

Reasonably priced for me is $40 or less at this point.

5.11 has a new "Apex Gunner's belt" that is made out of a ballistic nylon but looks and feels like leather, just far more durable. I want to buy one as soon as they are available in brown. It's $65 but is the closest I can do at that price point.

Otherwise, you will be hard-pressed to find a decent leather belt at that price point. I can tell you NOT to try the 5.11 one. If you don't find typical nylon/trainer's belts to be too "tacticool", I have 5.11's TDU belt and love it. It was $19.99, is reversible, and supports anything I want to hang off it, and looks as good as the day I bought it.

uncle mikes instructors belt, picked one up on ebay for about 20$. Great carry belt, its black and i dont think its too tactical.

The best I've found...

...are the ones made by the Amish. They're sold at most gun shows, and my LGS stocks them. They're very tough leather, and they have a roller buckle. They'll support almost any holster.

Akers belts sold on THR for $45 shipped are a great value.

I second the ones sold by the Amish. I bought two because of the short life of walmart belts. The first one has not shown wear yet!

I recently got one at the Indianapolis Gun Show for $40. It is fantastic. Bear in mind, I spent $10 for entry, but I kinda count that as coming from my entertainment budget.

Before buying that belt, I bought an excellent Amish belt on ebay for maybe $25. It is very good. But the stiffness of the above mentioned $40-belt over the smaller Amish belt is significant.

Has anyone tried the thick nylon belts sold at military clothing stores on base? I think it's called a rigger's belt. Much thicker nylon than the issue nylon belt, about 1 1/2 inches wide.

Check out this guy. Quality leather gunbelts for $35.00. Good stuff, quality craftsmanship. If you want an odd size belt, he'll cut it to the size you want. Upon request will replace traditional 5-hole with 7-hole. Your choice of 3 colors.... black, brown or chestnut. Your choice of buckles.... silver or brass. Also makes holsters. I have belts and holsters from this guy, quality products at fair prices.

Lots of places make decent belts...for work clothes, etc....

Gunshows have some good belt makers usually ....but I've also bought good belts from companies like Eddie Bauer.../ and someone asked about the nylon riggers belts....yes, a buddy tried one - and it didn't work very well / it seemed to "roll" on him a little...

I recently picked up a belt at WalMart (don't laugh) in the men's department that was marked as a "work" belt. Not a "tool" belt". It's brown, and isn't bad looking. It's reinforced better then any instructor belt that I own. $12. I've been using it daily for about two weeks now. No complaints!

My first gun belt was a Ross that I paid $40 for. It held up pretty well for about one year before it broken down and had to be replaced.

My next belt was a $100 horsehide belt from the beltman.net. I've had it for going on 4 years and it is virtually as stiff as when it was new.

I can't tell you what to buy but I would consider the cost over the expected life of the product.
