Belgium 44 Winchester frame acquisition

My wife and I were out yesterday and stopped in a little antique shop. I picked up a Belgium 44 winchester revolver frame. I got it for $18. I plan on just displaying it unless it would be safe and cost effective to restore. It has no grips, no cylinder, and the spring connecting the hammer and trigger is very weak or broke. Any suggestions or comments. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338228485.447606.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1338228498.620636.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1338228511.248148.jpg

An interesting piece of bric-a-brac. I cannot see it being worthwhile to try to scrounge up a cylinder and other parts of THAT PARTICULAR knockoff gun, though.

Interesting that the markings are in English, obviously made for export to the USA or at least someplace where English was more familiar than French or Flemish. Like maybe South America.

Winchester revolver frame?, it fires the 44 Winchester cartridge, {44-40 }, but it is a copy of a Smith and Wesson revolver { the 44 Double Action }. It looks as if it is right off the assembly line.

That's the Belgium copy of the S&W 1st model DA Frontier 44-40 and not worth restoring. The 44Russian is much more common, but the44-40 is more in demand.
