Being lazy is going to cost me.

It was so nice here this weekend I decieded to play on my home range.
I made up a bunch of +p 9mm gold dots and XTP's to run expantion tests,
I set up my Crony but forgot my rest in the garage.I was to lazy to walk back to the house to get it,I ran 10 rnds.gold dots but it only registerd 8 so I thought I must have shot to high for it to read.I lowered my point of aim and
put one right through the digital display,It took me three years but I finally
managed to kill it.A 124 gr.Gold Dot at 1240 fps did the trick and judging by the hole in the back of the unit it expanded quite well.

Ooops. You know, they should really make the display a separate unit from the speed traps. It would be nice to have the display sitting right next to you. With today's technology, I'm sure they could make it wireless. But even if you have to run a wire, that wouldn't be so bad.

My experience with a chrony is 'When', not 'If'. I always advise to buy cheap and buy with separate sensor and display units (cheaper to replace the senor unit than the entire chrony).

Sorry no pic's I through it in the dumster this mornning,Does this mean no proof it did'nt happen?.I try not to keep evidence of my poor marksmanship.

Trust me- a .308 caliber 165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip over 57.0 grains of IMR-4350 travelling at 2830 fps out of a .30-06 Springfield makes short work of a Crony! :(

Bad move

Chrony gives a generous trade-in allowance for carcasses.

You want pictures?

It starts out with pictures of a Chrony that had been dismantled by a 405 grain 45-70 bullet travelling about 1700 fps.

Nicely done.

My first Chronograph lasted one (full) day of shooting, then took a .22 rimfire dead center in the brain/readout.

I now have a remote readout and the sensor portion wears body armor.

CED Millennium Pro ...

This one also looks good,I"ll have to do a little reserch.
I do think I want the brain away from the unit this time.
Thanks.

I've got a pair of F1 Chrony's--one with a 38 super hole through it,
one with a 9mm hole. Thought about making a set of bookends
out of them for the reloading manual shelf.

Bought a CED Millennium II a couple of years ago. Should have done it
sooner.

What caliber for Chrony's?

'pears most any will do.

I second gdawgs idea the display should be by you (or maybe BEHIND you :D) instead of out front.

I also agree that killing your chrony is a 'when' not 'if' event.
