I might be in the market for a traditional (probably percussion cap) muzzle loader in .50 cal. I'd most likely use it for whitetail (Wisconsin, maybe South Dakota) and muley (S. Dakota, maybe Nevada) hunting. I'm not looking to put a scope on it.
I was looking at the Cabela's Hawken Traditional percussion. I don't want the kit to put together, but the finished rifle. Is this a good first start with traditional rifles? Does anyone have this from Cabelas?
I don't have any experience with black powder...I just know I'd like to start out with more of a traditional style gun.
