Beginner Grouping

The Prodigy

Shot my dad's Ruger SR40c for only the second time yesterday, and was grouping at about 2 inches at 45 feet on my best mag. However, the group was about 2 inches left of where I was aiming. Would this be a grip or trigger pull issue I wonder?

If you are shooting groups with a 2" max spread at 15 yds, it's sounds like your hold and trigger operation are pretty consistent for now. We all hold and see a bit differently, one from the other, hence the need for sight adjustments.

Move your rear sight a very small amount to the right... about 1/64" to 1/32". This will bring your group closer to the center of the bullseye. Fine tune from there.

Remember that front to rear sight alignment is more critical than sight to target alignment.

Good shooting,

Staple 10 individual playing cards to the target stand backing, diamonds or clubs is good, one...one shot per playing card. Take picture and post to TFL.
