Before I look like an idiot in the for sale section...

How much should a person expect to get from a

Savage 10FP .308 bolt action
Leupold Vari X III Tactical- 3/4" Mil-dot, adjustable objective, matte finish, multicoat lenses, 4.5-14 x 40mm
Leupold rings
Burris bases

The rifle has had 200 rounds through it and is in 95% condition. The scope has slight mounting marks. It has shot groups with touching holes at 100 yards.

I understand that one can not give an exact price, but I'd appreciate a price range.

I would appreciate your approximate valuation.

thanks

jj

You may want to sell scope and rifle separate. Check Ebay and see what those scopes are selling for. Weagle

That's a great suggestion from weagle. You'll likely end up getting more money separating the scope and rifle (leave the rings and bases with the rifle, IMO).

Rifle will probably draw about $300-325 since they go for right at $400 NIB.

Wish I had a guess for you on the glass, but a good rule of thumb would be about 75% of what you paid for it NIB.

Or you could just send the scope to me for Christmas... :D

With Bob's suggestion in mind, you could offer the rifle for one price, the scope for another, and a complete package price.

Whadaya think guys? About $425-450 complete package?

Check something like Shotgun News or The Gun List for the "brother-in-law" prices, new, for the rifle and scope.

Remembering that there's no sales taxes involved, figure around 90% of the new price, leaving the mounts and rings on the rifle and not figuring their cost into the deal.

If selling as a package, knock off another 10%.

Whatever your asking price, remember that you can always come down--but you can't go up.

That sounds like a pretty nice rig! And if it's shooting that good, I'd sell the wife and dog, and keep the rifle!!

I bought the same scope a few months ago for $480 and it was like new in the box. I also vote for selling the 2 separately. You could try putting the scope for sale on Bower's board in the accessories section, and the gun in the firearms section. That is where i got mine from. Hope this helps.

Good Luck

Sounds like $675-700 for the rig as a unit.

Also like the idea of offering separately (say $325 for the rifle and $425 for the scope) or a little discount for both ($700, give or take a little).

And as Art said, you can drop down in your pricing, but there's no way to go up. Get the number in mind that you're willing to settle for as a minimum and start about 20% above that.
