Beauty & the Beast

I bought the plainest 9mm sub in the World. I don't care a fig about beauty, I only care about reliaibility & results. I bought a great 9mm sub
that is superbly accurate, which under 30 feet that accepts any load that I use is crucial, plus for those us us with smaller hands. Yes, it takes practice to handle it properly. But it's worth it to me. My question is how many have tried the G43 & shot at least 100 rounds? If so, are you as confident as I am carrying it 24./7???. If so why? If not why? As always, all repsonse are welcome

My friend has one, and at the time, I had the 42. I was on the verge of buying one, as the gun was reliable, handled well, and I could hit plates at 25 yards right out of the gates.

I prefer Tritium over the standard Glock sights, though.

Without any modification it shot very well. However, I had a transaction that put a G19 MOS into my hands. I adapted quickly to the RMR, and so I moved away from acquiring a 43, after all.

The biggest advantages of the G43 are the size, reliability and ease of shooting. If I were to acquire one, I'd change out the sights for Tritium, and I'd add an Apex Trigger/Bar for the flat trigger surface.

I owned one for a short bit and then sold it after a few hundred rounds. For me personally I shoot the Glock 26 significantly better. I'm fully aware that there are those out there that love the 43 though and have no issue getting hits with it. To me the added level of concentration I had to use with the 43 over the 26 to get the same group size was noticeable (and moreso than when I owned a S&W Shield). I think with time I could have adapted to it better, but what I realized for myself personally was I don't have an issue carrying a 26 and I decided to stick with that. The 43 was completely reliable and I wouldn't knock it for that.

I just picked up a G43 this past week, ran it through its paces yesterday, will shoot another couple of boxes today.
I paid an extra $50,00 for steel Glock night sites and the sight picture is excellent night or day.
So far I am very impressed with this little pistol , for me it is as accurate! And handles like a much larger gun, it's a dream to carry.
There is a new #1 in my CCW rotation.

I have a Glock 43. Great gun, never malfunctions. trigger could be better, but for the money, the gun is a solid EDC gun.

The full sized Glocks don't particularly fit my hand, and rabid Glockoholism on the internet is a pet peeve of mine.

I realize that it's a great pistol, but it isn't terribly compelling to me personally.

I shot one at the range, but less than 100 rounds. I stuck with my G26 for reasons of capacity and handling. Just my preference, though - the G43 has plenty of fans. Sounds like you found a pistol you are pleased with.

If I had not purchased my G19, I would have bought the G26 instead.I don't have any problems carrying the 19 but down here in So. Fl. it's pretty warm in the Summer. That's why I wanted a smaller lighter Pistol. Since I'm truly comfortable with my 19, I figured stick to what I know & like hence the G43. It took an adjustment in my grip and it came with Glock's night sights which then made me get the rear night sights for my G19. Yes I know, it's strictly my personal choice.
My once a week range time is very enjoyable and relaxing. The best of both Worlds, Beauty & the Beast.

I guess I don't really get where Beauty and the Beast ties in. What makes the G43 beautiful and what makes it beastly?

G43 is what I carry. More than sufficient accuracy, perfect reliability so far.

I actually think it's nice looking, and my TALO edition came with a nice tritium/fiber optic front sight.

I'm in south Florida, too, pretty much for my whole life. I can't say that I understand why temperatures make a G43 better than a G26, but you aren't the only one who thinks so. I guess it's just me. You have a bigger gap between a 19 and a 43 than you would between a 26 and either, so you can look at that as being an increase in versatility. I wear a 26 year round, but I have a pocket pistol (Sig P238) for times when IWB carry doesn't work. But like I said earlier, I am glad that you found a setup that is pleasing to you. Mine is just what works for me.

My EDC for a while now. I shoot it very well. It just fit me. I know that's not the case for everyone. Love the way it carries and I don't feel under gunned.

As to reliability ,have yet to have a hiccup with any load. Don't do round counts .But I would guess between 700 to 1000.

I find the simplicity of design attractive. More importantly it is accurate for it's intended use, super reliable and conceals very well, which encourages me to carry more often.

In the summer I pocket carry 38 snubbies or a micro 380.

With a cover shirt, Glock 43 in owb holster.

With coat, Charter Arms Bulldog in outer pocket.

The Glock is surprisingly easy to shoot well. I am a revolver guy, but I feel very comfortable with the G43. It has yet to malfunction after some hundreds of rounds. With the correct extended magazines it fits my giant hands reasonably well. The felt recoil is less than I expected.

I've got a Glock 43, not my idea of a preferred primary pistol.
I can carry it in a pocket, but the Kahr PM9 (not a primary either) is more pocket friendly in size.
For IWB carry, untucked shirt (loathe tucked in shirts) so I may as well carry something "decent" like a Glock 19/32 along with the Kahr as 2nd option in pocket.

Two versions of 100+ heat:
-Working outside, not going in & out of air cond., yea, might have to settle for just pocket carry wearing sweat soaked shirt for hours.
-Going in and out of air cond. places, vehicle, running errands, in & out of heat - I'm not setting for just pocket carry in this scenario.

Although the G43 is a nice piece that is ideally suited for its intended purpose, I tried one alongside my Walther PPS-M2 and I'm fairly certain that I shoot my Walther better.
