Bayonet on shorty?

Could someone tell me the correct way (if there is one) to install a bayonet on a 16 inch AR? There is more barrel between the lug and flash hider than on a 20 inch. Thank you kindly

Is that to go with one of those special forces 1911s with the stabbing gizmo on the butt of the gun? Talk about close quarters!

Bushmaster sells a little bolt-on bayo mount dohickey you could add on the gun 4" or so (I guess) behind the suppressor, forward of the front sight assembly. Can't find it on thier website, but I remember it from their catalog a couple years back.

This assumes you're pre-ban, of course, as otherwise you're over your evil features count.

If you care.

Oh.. also you'ld need a suppressor of some kind (or brake of equivalent diameter) to keep the bayo from sloshing around on the barrel.

Just occured to me... one of the extended fake-CAR15 suppressors that sleeves back over the barrel may give you enough diameter for the front bayo ring... might work, never tried it:

(second item down)CAR 15 suppressors

Bayonets? Bayonets? On an AR? And on a Shorty? Am I missing something?

Could somebody please elucidate as to the purpose of such an expenditure?

bayonets are great for slicing 2 inch celulose sheet insulation
i un-mount mine for this kind of work

they are designed to mount up properly on a military 14.5 inch barrel

they really do not mount on a 16 inch civilian AR

they do mount nicely on the 590 Mossberg 12 gauge or the 20 inch barreled AR
