Bauer saga is back!

I knew life was getting a touch too mundane, but my Bauer pistol has renewed the adventure.

Have been shooting it on a pretty regular basis. Even took it to Idaho with me so my brothers could shoot it. It's been running well, with the occasional jam. A fun range gun.

On last range trip it started to bind up. I figured it needed a good clean. Took it apart and discovered that the middle flange of the barrel locking flanges was just about gone. You can't see it well in the pic below but the middle flange is just a nub on one end. Wow. I got this barrel somewhere on line. Must be an after market cheap thing.

I cleaned the gun and reinstalled the old barrel that has the bad crown. I cleaned up the crown a touch with a Dremel tool. Gun runs fine again.

Will look for a new barrel on-line.

Yeah, I know this gun is like (what ever the metaphor is for something bad that keeps coming back.) But it's also a lot of fun.

Thoughts and comments welcome.

Life is good.

I was going to offer to re crown it for you, but not that one!
He'll never miss a quarter of an inch (or so) off the barrel.

Actually, that barrel doesn't just have a bad crown, that muzzle was chipped somehow. I've never seen anything quite like that.

Yeah, I wonder too.

Yeah, I kinda wonder how it got chipped to begin with. Kinda funky. Anway a "new" barrel is on its way. Found it on ebay. Hope it's not of the same manufacture of the previous new barrel.

The holster that came with this gun is well used. Someone in its previous life carried it a lot.

Maybe I'm over working the thing. Would never carry it myself.
