Bauer better but . . .

I posted before about my auction bought Bauer 25 cal acp pistol. The mag release latch had a problem and FTL forum member Bill DeShivs helped me fix that one. (Thank you Bill.) Anyway with that problem fixed I'd like to address the fail to eject problem. The gun feeds pretty well, but doesn't eject well. I've greased the rails and keep the innards lightly oiled, but it fails to eject about 80 percent of the time. The empty case comes out of the chamber but does not exit the gun.

It was suggested to me that if I got a baby browning magazine the problem may go away. The mag in the gun has no manufacture id on it so I don't know if it's the original mag or not. You have to pull it out of the gun, it does not drop out.

So, Bauer pistol fails to eject . . . talk to me please.

Need a Bauer extractor . . .

As noted above, the extractor in my Bauer pistol is broken. So I get on line tonight and the two places I can find one (Nunrich and Innovative Industries) are both shut down for the duration. Can't find one at Brownells or anywhere else out there.

So, anyone out there have a Bauer Extractor they would sell me?

Bill . . .

Bill, thanks for the offer. Problem is I only have one of the pieces. The "hook" part on the front end is gone. The gun ran so well when I first got it, I'm thinking it must have broken in my second trip to the range with it. Very small fragment broke off.

Thanks for the link to PSP. I've looked there, but spot on their web site that would allow me to order an extractor doesn't have a pic of that extractor so I'm a touch leery. I e-mail them today so we'll see.

In the mean time . . .

Thanks Bill.

Thanks Bill.
Truth is I'd rather do business with you, but I had an e-mail exchange with PSA and got the part ordered from them.
Next something breaks on the Bauer, I'll be in touch.

Really?

Jerry -
That's interesting info. I was bidding on a Beretta Jetfire via an on line auction just a few days ago. I didn't pay attention to the end of the auction and lost it.
The Bauer is my first 25acp. Mostly a range toy, but now that I'm shooting 25acp, the more the merrier . . . right? I got the dies and am even reloading the empties.

Yes, extractor was good when I first bought it . . .

So, I'm scrolling through some previous posts and look at pics of the Bauer that I posted after the first range session. In that first session I shot 90 rounds with only two jams. Also did a mag dump with no jams. Looking at those pics it appears clear that the extractor was fully intact at that time. This should mean that the new extractor will return the gun to its former working glory. We'll see. Also the chipped corner of the grip has come off fully and been lost. So will need new grips to return it to its former "visual" glory . . . but those little grip replacements are expensive!

Thanks.

It was still there and I picked it up. Beats a whole new set of grips which run from 30 to 80 bucks depending on how fancy they are.

Thanks much.

Bill:

I knew I'd need to move it over but had not thought about how to. Your advice is right on the money.

Will let you know how it goes.

And who'd have thought that little nut had such a fancy name.

... I find it hard to believe this little thing was a carry gun...

When I was college age, some friends of mine got together for a camping expedition. These fellows were not gun people at the time (something that later changed). They were concerned about the possibility of encountering a bear, but one of them had a Bauer .25, so they took that with them just in case.

Feel better now?
