Who carries collaspable batons out there?

I guess I didn't rush into getting one because of restrictions in Texas.

What states can a civilian carry one of these things? I noticed even the smaller batons are heavy enough to kill someone.

Anybody carry/use one of these on a regular basis? Any tips would be appreciated.

I carry a 26" ASP and just love it, It is easy to carry, inconspicuios(don't think I got that one right)and is above OC and below deadly force on the use of force continium.

I routinely carry a 21" Airweight ASP, and have used it on numerous occasions. They key to the ASP is that your max length deployed will be limited by the max length that you are able/willing to carry around. Many people forget this. I like the Airweight for its speed, but YMMV.

I carry a ASP 26,in addition to what I carry ccw.
I want to get the key chain ASP,anyone use one?

Got the pewter finish, they are ok, but the OC is not enough to put someone "down and out", but then what OC is?? Nice for Compliance, handy keyholder too...

i got a cheap baton to carry because it will do teh job once then i will ditch it and get another quickly.

unlike knives, which have a legitimate purpose other than fighting, these little babies are not for anything else so i just went cheap to do the job and ditch.

Has anyone found a good source/price on the Airweight ASP? It seems as though the Airweight in particular is hard to find...

You dont want an airweight...
I have seen them bent in moderate use, and were then unable to colapse again.

But if you really want one - order through ASP direct.

I loved my 26" model - Used it alot - got good milage out of it - and sold it and got 50% back out of it. The real ASP is worth the money when you look at what you get out of it.

I don't see any reason you'ld have to ditch one... Like any other tool, you get what you pay for - and why would you skimp on a tool that could save yours or anothers life when it comes down to that critical moment?

In order of use, here is what I found that I used more often - and thus should be the best you can get:

#1 Folding knife
#2 Cell Phone
#3 Cuffs
#4 ASP baton
#5 OC FOAM
#6 Baseball cards & lollipops
#7 Harsh language
#8 Threats & Promises
#9 Compassion
#10 Firearms

This was now a long time ago for me - now I use a MS Natural Keyboard and a Logitech Trackman Marble... Not nearly as leathal - But if you pissed me off enough I am sure it would smart if I smacked you over the head with them! :D
