from a freind of mine on another board...I guess the law only applies to the lesser mortals, huh? now you know what some of the BATF want. Police state maybe?
"
Today a friend from another state bordering DC came to help me to take some
clothing from a storage bin to a charity, since I cannot lift due to surgery and had to
get it out of the bin.
Not terribly far from the Springfield, VA HQ of the George Allen/George Bush campaign
HQ at that, we stopped the van for a light, and I watched the man in the white car
in front of us jump out, take down the Bush/Allen sign, throw it into his trunk, and
put up a Gore/Lieberman sign...which is against the law to do! When I said, "Oh, look
what that son of a gun just did..." my male helper jumped out of his van, approached
the driver in front of us and "gave him hell" in a classic way only he could do. He
DEMANDED that the driver, whose license I had by then (if you can use it, you can
have it...let me know via sysops!), get out and put back the Bush/Allen sign (was a
third name on it not familiar with). This guy seemed scared, and when he got out, my
helper saw a BATF badge on his belt and demanded his name. The guy said, "You
already know enough," and put back the sign.
At our destination just down the block, I called the Bush/Allen campaign office to tell
them this and give them the BATF connection and license plate. They left me a
message on my answering machine before I got home, saying they'd told the police,
who weren't interested, "Because we are too busy." Want to bet it's because the
guy is BATF?
Between Ruby Ridge and Waco, I have NO love for these guys, but when you
actually see one of them do something small-potatoes but malicious and illegal like
this, and to help influence an election in their chosen direction, JUST outside the
"hallowed halls" of Wash, DC, in NoVA, then it can make you awfully angry!!!
Just thought you all would like to know this little tidbit."
