Base Milling

I (may) need to remove some of the length on a Badger rail base due to the AO on a scope that's a little too large.

How can I do this without a grinding wheel? Could a regular iron file work just as well?

Of course, I can always get larger rings!

TIA

S.

I don't know why a good file wouldn't work. If you are careful, you can do a neat job. A good mill bastard (that is a type of file, I am not cussing) would probably work fine; I recommend a Nicholson.
