Barska scopes

has anyone used the Barska tatical sniper scopes. Are they any good, do they hold there zero, are they even worth trying.
 
They are rubbish, don't bother with one. Not sure what they cost, but if you spend he extra money on a Burris or Vortex or Nikon you will never regret it.

Less magnification is better than bad quality glass. Non exposed turrets are better than exposed ones that don't track properly, and a scope that you have to worry about holding zero.

I recently read an article that stated that the worse scopes of today, are better than some of the best, of yesterday. Barska is one of today's worse. I do have a Barska RedDot and it barely serves me well. For just a little more money, you can get much better. ..... ;)

Run away!!!

A couple years ago a buddy of mine brought his new Barska spotting scope to the range, we couldn't see .50 BMG holes at 300yds. The best way to describe looking through it was like rubbing your eyes after swimming in an over chlorinated pool, nothing we could do made it focus better.
 
I got a free Barska spotting scope with some ammo order a ways back; worst glass Ive ever looked through.

For a good budget scope try a Burris, Natchez offers nice deals on them.
 
Barska- they don't even work all that well as paper weights. Once again, as usual- I'm going to put a suggestion in for Mueller scopes. I've got several and have never had a problem with any of them.
 
I've got a 20x60 spotting scope that works "OK" for up to 200 yards. For 60 bucks I'm happy with it. If I wanted to look longer, I'd buy a better one. For a rifle scope, I'd buy Leupold or Vortex. The warranty alone is worth it.
 
It depends what it's being used for. If it's for plinking, Barskas are fine. I put one on my son's first .22 rifle and we had great fun with it.

For more serious matters, like hunting or competition, get a Leupold.
 
I have one. Probably should throw it away. The clicks are a joke. Sometimes you get no movement and sometimes the crosshair jumps a few inches. The gun never shoots in the same place for long.

I also made the mistake of buying one of their reflex sights. You turn it on, fire a shot and it turns off. Fire another shot and it turns on again.

Got the 4-16x50 Sniper. What a joke!!!

Optics get fuzzy above 9. Not that the optics were great to begin with.
The extra super tall rings have the scope way jacked up. Had to find, then buy different rings.
And finally...

After 5 shots from 7mm Rem Mag have an object in the lower right quadrant. Got to looking at it. It appears to be metal flaking of some sort, and is internal to the scope.

Have since taken it off, and put a 20+ year old Apollo 3-9x40 Rubber armored scope on. Doing much better with it!!!
 
Barska Airgun Rifle Scope 3-12x 40mm

I know I will be slammed on my support for Barska scopes. I have the Barska Airgun Rifle Scope 3-12x 40mm scope and have them installed on a couple 22LR rifles. It has been a pleasure to use and I find that they are accurate with no negatives for a $60 scope.

I also own a couple of Leopold III scopes and the clarity is excellent but I paid a lot more for them also. BTW I have a Taurus 709 SLIM 9mm, nice small hand gun that has not malfunctioned on me yet. I trust it more than the Ruger LCP that I own.

Lemmon from Rural South Carolina......17 days till I become a senior citizen that is living on a fixed income....
