Barrett rec7 5.56?

Anyone handle one before? Seems pricey to me considering I'm new to ARs and my only experience has been a Bushmaster (which is completely positive so far). I know Barrett is a credible name in a serious business and therefore carries some weight but is the REC7 worth 2K?

I have handled and shot one. I was at a training class when one of the prototypes was torture tested. Despite the efforts to make it fail, it ran and ran and ran.

My only complaint about the REC7 is the same complaint about any piston driven AR: front end weight. By the time I get a light up there, I don't like the weight added by the piston. YMMV.

As for the manufacturer, the Barrett REC7 is a quality firearm.
