Barrel question

I was cleaning the barrel on my Extrema and noticed that the round cylinder part (2" long) on the barrel that slips around the magazine (part X)...well if you look on the inside of the barrel where that part X is on the outiside there are 2 little indentations. It looks like the weld might have went through the barrell a little bit.

Is this a problem? It's relatively new. Should I try to get a new barrel from the mfg?

None of my other shotguns have it.

Not familiar with that particular gun.
Maybe that is the gas ports.

Send correspondence to mfgr.

Beretta's QC is very nice, i would think it is supposed to be like that. I'm not all too familiar with the inner workins of that little vent system, but I wouldn't worry about it.
