I traded for a dan wesson 15-2 monson 357mag pistol pack and it caused me to definitely think about a more durable finish for blued guns I currently have a dan wesson, marlin, win, and 870 if it is a blued gun don't believe. I was wondeing getting my ruger srh 9.5" 44mag ported and am the look out for dan wesson ported barrels and their prices.
 
I don't believe, but I could be wrong, that DW ported the M15s. I know they ported some of the SuperMags.
 
i don't believe the factory ever offered a ported m-15 either. you could sent it off to mag-na-port to have it done, but be aware that it has a tendency to foul the muzzle nut.
 
Go to the after market mail order places like Brownells or Numrich Gun Parts Corp. and get an extended muzzel nut. It's about 2 inches long and it replaces the regular muzzel nut, but it has holes all around it and it acts like a muzzel brake.

What I did with mine is I clamped a piece of copper tubing around the bottom of it with just the holes in the 11,12, and one oclock positions open, and talk about lack of kick :D
