With these new composite carbon thread barrels using just a thin liner for the actual barrel, wouldn't a barrel mandrel make sense?
Instead of broaching the rifling, they could make a mandrel and compress the liner tube onto it. Sorta forged to a mandrel. Then remove the mandrel and wrap the sucker.
Seems that once an accurate barrel came out of the process, all barrels made on that mandrel would have same accuracy.
