Hi, welcome to TFL. Use the search function, this subject has been discussed a bunch.
Personally I like to use a bronze brush wrapped with strands pulled from a Chore Boy or the like scouring pad.

Chore Boy = brass mesh scrubbing pad for cookware clean up.
Find in market, food type.

Outers makes a kit called the "Foul Out III". It is kinda expensive $75-100 but cheap if you shoot a lot. You might spent that in solvents, brushes, etc. in a year. It works through reverse electroplating and man does it work. I have scrubbed and scrubbed until I thought the barrel was clean. Then hooked up the Foul Out. It is amazing. One of those products that actually does exactly what it says.

I shoot lead bullets in my .357's and I have found that Blue Wonder works great. Just run a brush coated with BW down the barrel, let it sit for 10 minutes and swab it out with Kroil-coated patches. No scrubbing required.

Works for me.

For many, many years, revolver shooter's have used the Lewis Lead Remover Kit to clean revolver barrels and cylinders.

Unlike some other methods, the Lewis kit cleans the bore quickly, and there is no possibility of damaging the bore.

Hoppe's sell a cheaper version at many gun stores.

The Lewis kit is available from Brownell's.

I tried the Hoppe's version, just plain stink..didn't work very well at all.

I presume the lewis lead remover is better (preferably much)?

Start shooting jacketed magnums and they will clean it for you. I had that problem once and there was some that I just couldn't get out. Havn't shot lead slugs since.

I like RB-17. I saw it at my local gun shop and figured what the hey. I ran a brush with it through my "clean" PT-99 barrel, let it sit for a few minutes, and then ran a dry patch through it. Woof, what a mess. Tried it on my S&W M-19 and it's great.

Stay safe.
