Barrel for cast 9mm? Any to stay away from

I know some guns have a tight throat, etc, I need a threaded barrel and want to make sure there aren't any to stay away from for cast
 
Polygonal rifling can be a problem if you don't watch for leading.
Some folks complain about leading of compensator and suppressor.
 
Harder cast lead usually not a problem but always keep an eye on it

I do that regardless with my Sig barrel.
 
Hardness for 9mm is a moot point. Size it what keeps the lead from building up for the most part. Some powder choices can lead to more lead build up with bullets that do fit. Hi Skor 800x, and Blue Dot are two I can think off the top of my head that have done so with other calibers that I reload for. Titegroup caused the same issue for me with cast lead in .45 auto, and .44 special. I have not tried it in 9mm, and I am using Win231 with good results so I am going to stick with what is working.


If you can slug the bore. You get to know what the grove diameter is which will help greatly. If in doubt use a 125 grain .38 special bullet. See if it will chamber. Work up your load from the starting load to keep from going over on pressure.
 
You can powder coat the bullets cheaply, but I've never heard of a study of them in polygonal rifling to show whether or not the coating can strip in them. Do you know of one?
 
Not a study but my own experience, powder coat will NOT come off of home cast 9mm bullets out of a factory glock barrel.
