hey everyone i have a 1100 magnum 12 gauge , and was wondering where i could find a slug barrel for it ,the only ones i could find are for 2.75 and not for 3inch ,just looking for a barrel with iron sights on it and will shoot 2.75 and 3inch slugs thanks

You can shoot slugs thru the barrel you now have. We used to take them magnums and put on the 2 3/4 berrel to shoot the shorter shells on birds.

If you need a rifled barrel it will only shoot 3in or 2 3/4 not both.

As you are aware, Remington doesn't list a 1100 3" slug barrel. You have several options: As markj noted, you can shoot conventional slugs with your existing barrel. Or, get a used 3" barrel. In both cases, if the barrel has a vent rib, for slugs you can clamp-on a rifle type sights like the Williams Slugster.

2 3/4" slugs do not bounce off Bambi. I've taken a fair amount of deer with the short slugs, and none complained about being shot with an inadequate load.

My primary slug shooter is a 3" 870. My backup slug gun is an old 2 3/4" 870. Set up similarily, they both love KOs.

The clampon sets of open sights from Williams and Lyman do work. Try a set of those and some 5 packs of slugs and see what your barrel likes. Then buy lots of those and go hunting.

I used to use brenneke KO's 2 /34 in in my old 1100. Never had any deer complain. Come to think of it, they just laid there all dead and stuff :)

Have never found the need for the 3" over the 2 3/4" or the drastic difference between them for deer hunting. IMO, the 3" only offers something more to the shooter rather than the deer. More recoil!

Depends on the shell, some offer a larger slug, some a faster shot. In my winchester 1300 with a rifled barrel the 3 in sabots shoot tighter groups out to 100 yards, the 2 3/4 dont shoot as nice for me anyways.

I usually shoot one shell for one deer.......

IIRC the only thing a 3" has to offer over 2 3/4" slug shells is maybe 200 fps..... not enough difference if you ask me

I bought a box of 15 Winchester 2 3/4" grey box and a box of 15 of the same in 3" and never noticed a difference in accuracy, but there was a slight bit more recoil with the larger

Only reason I bought the 3" shells was cuz my 77H has a 3" chamber....... but for the sake of my cheek and shoulder I stick to the 2 3/4" shells and a cheekrest with padding

Also, I dont remember any 1100 that was chambered for 3" or bigger, I thought that was why the 1187 was made to replace it? If I am wrong please inform me

You gotta remember way back... The original Model-1100 introduction (December 1962) included a 3-inch magnum. They have an "M" suffix in their serial number.

The 1100s came in 2 flavors so to speak, one shot 2 3/4 the other shot 3 in only. I had a friend tell me his 1100 shot both but I have never seen one that did without swapping the barrel as the gas ports were different.

I use a winchester 1300 with a rifled barrel. The 3in dont bother me at all and are better on paper with my set up using the winchester sabots that go almost 2000 fps.

Saturday is first shotgun here, getting antsy, have my sights on a few nice bucks been eating on my place.

hasting

Hasting made some with cantilever for the 1100 Magnum.(i have one).
I believe they are out of business. They may have made a rifle sighted barrel.
You can get a barrel with Rem Choke and a rifled choke.
You can mount a scope on the receiver.
You can shoot foster style slugs through a smooth bore.
