I'm looking for advice on hand loading Barnes LRX for my wife's .243. It will be fired from a remington 783 with a 22" barrel. I'm curious about best powder, powder charge, and OAL. Thanks in advance.
I load 80 gr TTSX over either Reloder-17 or -19. Both work well. COL 2.610. Group an inch at 100 from a Ruger American. You can work up your own charge. Of course, Barnes has data on line. Have not put one through a critter yet.
Welcome, I haven't shot that bullet in my 243 but I'm using Berger 95gr and their data. I looked at it and they rec 1/8 twist and it's longer than Berger I'm using.
If your shooting 1/8 twist barrel that might be good bullet to use. Nosler making 90gr E-Tip.
You might want to try these guys. They help you with loads
I have no experience with that Bullet, but H4350 is an excellent powder for the 243 win. I have had exceptional accuracy with many different bullets and that powder in 243.
