People in Palm Beach County, Florida had difficulty understanding/reading the election ballot, or so the story goes.

While it does appear that the layout of the ballot used in that county, how come ballots are not standardized throughout the state, did not conform to state requirements, last week both the Democrats and Republicans saw the form, and not a peep was heard from anyone.

Exactly what is the problem here, and why is there a problem anyhow?

Because "the rules" are keeping the liberals from having their way. When that happens, the rules need to be changed on the spot to give them their way...

God so values free will that He gave us all the freedom to turn our back on even Him. If liberty is that important to God, it should be that important to us all...

Our electoral process is a mish-mash. State laws control how the process is run, but the political parties operate the process. Generally, things like ballots are up to the counties' parties to work together set up the format, get printed, etc.

At one time or another through the decades, I have punched little holes, marked Xs, or pulled levers. Ya gotta pay attention to what you're doing! Sadly, too many folks don't.

But it's strictly up to the voter to "do it right". Those folks in the polling place are there to help if one is confused. If a voter goofs, the ballot is thrown out. Tough.

In addition to your wqise observations, might I ad the following, for general attention.

While there might not be any law against being "dumb or stipid", there are usually other costs involved, the least of which would be that the individual's vote is cast aside, rather than being counted. In any event, being "stupid" is the individuals fault, possibly their choice also.
