I don't do facebook so I can't see the video. I guess I'm the only person on the planet that doesn't have a facebook account. *sniff sniff* :(

Depends on the bullet & velocity.
I've tested .357 Mag rounds into water filed containers & they usually stop in about 15~19" of penetration.

OK now I looked. Its actually on DailyMotion & is a Nat Geo thing, not a FB thing someone just paste it into FB.

WHY WAS NO ONE wearing hearing protection:confused:
"Stick your fingers in your ears while I fire the .44 Mag (one of the world's most powerful handguns)" not 15 ' from you.

No I'm not giving you the answer look it up.

As was noted, it depends upon the bullet (materials and construction) and the velocity: if you drive a fragile bullet fast enough with a tight enough twist, it will fly apart without even hitting anything at all- it won't be able to withstand the rotational forces imparted by the rifle ......

A bullet right on the raggedy edge of flying apart in this way would likely be "stopped" by just a single water balloon...... I do know a .277" 90gr Speer hollowpoint driven to 3+k f/sec can sometimes be stopped by a single prairie dog- though adjacent p-dogs can be killed by fragments

Just the balloons, or balloons filled with water? Or filled w/ something other than water?

This is such a trick question, on so many levels... ;)

I can't seem like "like" any posts..?

thankyou @vanya.. was about to paste the actual link but u did it first :)

@2ndsojourn @snyper @4v50 gary.. see @vanya's post, he has shared another link of the same video

If anyone actually watches the video you'll see that the bullet never "stops". look closely at the last water balloon punctured, you'll se the bullet exit from low down on the rear, missing the next balloon. Yet another safety "FAIL".

Try watching it all the way through ....

I thought the same thing .....until I watched the slo-mo replay.....

Look again, wog: the bullet never exits the backside of the last ballon. It stretches the balloon like it's going to ..... and then rebounds with the balloon. The bullet, perfectly mushroomed, is recovered from inside the 4th balloon.

OK you're right!
KInda sorta confirmed my .357 @ 15 yds results, even though that about a 15' shot!
I actually voted NOTA, figuring 5~6 balloons.:(

Yet another here, no FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc. I DO do texts and Facetime with my kids and grandkids on the I phone.

As to how many balloons, I would suspect that would depend on several factors, like shape of bullet, velocity, distance from target, yadda, yadda, yadda.
