ballistic test media?

Hey guys, anyone know of some reasonably priced solid media to use for ballistic testing? I really like the sim-test media that tn9outdoors uses but man that stuff is expensive.

Wetpack is great for penetration tests but I would really like something where i can follow the bullet path/wound channel to really see whats going on it x round.

I plan on doing a fair amount of testing on "unorthodox" SD rounds. Just to shut some people up and try to answer some questions I have about which of my guns is truly the best HD weapon I own.

That's the cool part about wetpack, you can flip through the paper like reading a book to visually inspect the temporary stretch cavity. It's also easy to put whatever obstacle in front of (like denim) to see if your bullets actually do expand. This method is far from scientific, but who can afford ballistics gelatin and the complicated procedure of refrigeration, temperature control and perfect consistancy?
