Ballistic Fingerprinting = Registration

Of course you all realize that ballistic fingerprinting is useless without knowing who bought the weapon.
This is registration folks, plain and simple.

I thought that registration was the 'line in the sand' for most of us?

Hmmm - I wonder if everyone was telling the truth.

I have a feeling that alot of people will move their line in the sand back to actual confiscation.

Which of course will never happen.

Goodnight Irene.

"As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances there is a twilight when everything remains

lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."

Let us assume they fire a bullet from each gun before sale. Yup, a computer will catalog it very well. NOW, I can replace a barrel on ANY gun in short order. I have oveer a dozen just for my 1911. As a gun wears the charactoristics change as well. Someone that shoots a lot will wear a barrel enough to change the charactoristics in short order.
If they go by firing pin impressions or ejector markings the same holds true. It is like saying you will take imprints of shoes or car tires to use.
Hard to imagine an adult can buy into that lame logic.

And, until your gun is shot-in, we all know that saboted bullets offer improved performance over non-saboted bullets. Of course a side benefit is that the rifling marks are on the plastic sabot, not the projectile itself.

Where there is an active mind, there is a way.
