Ballistic/Accuracy Difference? HELP

I took my SP101 out yesterday and was at an outdoor range. We could only shoot 25 yds and was actually doing well at that distance. The SP had the Butler Creek Boot grip on it..no CTC.
So Im using my sights....note: The trijicon in bright light appears identical to the OEM sight...just black and there. :D
With standard CCW round...Fed 125gr, GD 125gr loads it was very accurate regarding POA/POI...then I started with Win 110gr JHP's my POI dropped a foot instantly and stayed there. I couldnt even tell where they were hitting and was told by a friend who was shooting with me. Man...Ive shot them before from this gun but at 30-45 ft. Is this much difference normal at this distance? To me this is very excessive.
Shoot well
BTW, my SP with the 125gr rounds shot as well as my PCR at 25 yds....3" group with 4 rnds and a flyer :( total was 5"...Im actually quite happy with that....:D

The lighter the bullet, the flatter the trajectory, the impact point moves lower. This is normal and becomes more apparent as the range increases.

Exactly the same thing happened to me!

Eric: I took my Smith Mod 638 out for some shooting and practiced with three different Georgia Arms Loads:
110 gr JHP+P, 125 gr SJHP+p and 158 gr SWC. Mind you, I'm not shooting at 25 yards but I got the same effect.

I began with the 125 gr and it was right in the 10 ring at 10 yards; then I switched to the 158 gr and it was 2-3" above the 10 ring; I lastly shot the 110 gr and it was approximately 2-3" below the 10 ring. Soooooo, when carrying my Smith mod 638, what do you think I'd be carrying for self-defense? With fixed sights, I don't want to be compensating my POA for a more accurate POI......gimme these those 125 grainers!

With that in mind, anyone shoot those 60 gr RBCD TFSP's through either their .357 mag or .38 spcl?? Just curious where those things hit.

Is this much difference normal at this distance?
Not uncommon.
Lighter bullet at higher velocity gets out of the barrel earlier, less affected by recoil induced muzzle flip.

Really slow bullets will impact high at those close ranges. Trajectory starts being import at longer ranges.

Good points and well taken. The difference in muzzle rise is very evident. The 125's just want out NOW..they slam the gun back but its not punishing to shoot. The 110gr HPs feel like +p 38's to me. Not bad, just that much different. I also like the 125gr JHP's for a carry round. My trijicon is set up for my CCW round and seems thats what my CTC was dialed in for also. Ill start to stock up on on GD's. Thanks for the enlightenment..and Shoot well
