"What I do know is that Baikal imported some IJ-70s that were beautifully nickel plated (in which countless numbers of folks erroneously believe is stainless, which never existed- all Makarovs are of carbon steel).
Nickel plated Makarovs are exceedingly hard to find, as only Russia's Baikal imported them with this factory-finish option."

Anyboby know about this model? I very quickly looked at this model today, Dealer was asking $260.00, how does this model compar to the standard maks that sell for $150.00 orso.

Gee, that quote sure does look awful familiar... :D

B-West imported factory nickel IJ-70s from Russia in both 9x18 and .380acp in the early '90s, but that's about as much as I know. I understand they are exceedingly hard to find.

I have a factory, nickel, Russian Commercial Mak imported by B-West. It is .380 and I have only seen them in .380, never 9MM Mak caliber. It was purchased new by me in 1994, but you don't see many around anymore as they are getting collector status. $200 - $250 is probably a fair price range.

Also, I've never seen a stainless Mak and agree that they are probably a myth.

Baikal IJ70's are getting hard to find in general , the plated version should be worth a little more. There is an IJ 70 for sale at a pawn shop in my town for 365.00$ , black version .380 caliber.
I looked at the price and choked....oh well. shoot well
