If you decide to use a shotgun make sure you have the proper ammo for it. You need BadgerShot. Any decent sporting goods store should have it on hand. You will find it next to the CoyoteShot.:D

What in THE hell? These pets or true wild raiders? What are they finding to eat at your house? Makes you wonder if they'd cook up very well.... where is this, anyway?

It is not my yard, I gleaned this from photobucket.

I think a belt fed firearm would be called for in this situation.

Are you sure those polecat cousins haven't been fornicating with prairie poodles? There sure are a LOT of them! Wonder what kind of attractant scent is used? M60 and someone to hand the ammo might be in order. CB.

I didn't think badgers were sociable animals even with their own kind. It has Photoshop or Corel written all over it. I'm thinking the owner of the picture is showing the trail of the animal. Digital cam mounted on tripod can make this an easy project. Here's a nice gun to take care of those pesky varmints.

Photoshop. The images are repetitions of what looks like about 4 or so basic shots. If this were a real situation, tossing food into the middle of the crowd might be interesting.

Badgers or not, I would not want THAT many in my yard. Now if the cat is badass enough to stand around with a bunch of wild animals I would keep him around.:D

Tossing that cat into the middle of them might be interesting....

The picture must be from Europe or Asia- These are Mele Meles- Euro/Asian badgers....

That can't be real. Or if it is I think that's just too cool! Maybe I'm a little off my kilter but non-edibles are just not something I shoot with the exception of coyotes and raccoons. Far better to have them around to eat slugs and snakes. That's something I'd rather show the kids alive than dead. Anyway, this makes a cool University of Wisconsin promo pic.

If anyone has ever shot a badger and knows how tough and mean they are I would not want to be around there with anything short of a really good semi-auto 12 guage with a big long magazine tube on it.

Looks like a badger to me, very much like an Eurasian badger.

I've seen a badger while out grouse hunting in Utah, my hunting partner was smart enough to tell me to let it pass without getting its' attention. Very smart friend he is. josh

Yep, Eurasian badger (Meles meles), not North American.

I'm pretty sure it's a mosaic photo. Even Eurasian badgers are not communal.

Oh yes they are.

Most of the information regarding badger social organisation comes from high density populations, where groups of badgers share territory and a communal den.

The badgers in the image may be from the UK where they are protected from hunting and range freely. They also apparently are not as aggressive at their North American counterparts.

I wish I knew who took the pic..but from what I hear if there's food.. Badgers will kill their own if they get in the way,,
