What do you think the pros and cons would be if i go threw and install this badger ordnace bolt knob on my marlin x7vh .308? I havent heard anyone talking about installing on on their marlin x7vh yet sofar. Im almost done setting up my rifle and this is one of the last things on my wish list to be completed. It states on the website its only for rem 700 but the x7vh is very simular in design.

How are they very similar?
Is it that they...
are made of metal?
have tubular receivers?
are bolt-actions?
are owned by the same company?
have sevens in the model names?

The Remington 700 and Marlin X7s are very different rifles. Don't assume anything will cross over, or you'll regret it.

well i was meaning the bolt handle schematics and dimensions not the rest of the bolt. Im aware the marlin isnt the remington 700 :)

just got off of the phone with badger ordnace and the lady i was transferred to said they only have the tooling to mill a rem 700 bolt assembly with out changing alot of parts around to install the bolt knob . she said make sure angle install is correct and she has been told of many differnt makes the bolt knob has been installed on.

thats the name i guess tagged with it but i mainly need the larger bolt knob due to arthridis in my hands at times its hard togrip small stuff. but i agree not sure why its tatical maybe the finish alows no glare. I wont ever have this rifle with me if im having to worry about that.

What makes it tactical is...

It cost almost what the rifle is worth.

It is Black.

It is LARGE so you can operate it with TACTICAL SHOOTING GLOVES on.

It cost almost what the rifle is worth.

That is not a slam on your rifle man so chill out.

spend your money on accurizing instead of faux tactical. I never missed a cycle on any bolt action gun I ever shot. That big bolt could hang up on something in a hunting situation and it is going to add weight.

Seems like he has a pretty good reason for having an oversized knob.

Doesn't make the name any less dumb, although not nearly as dumb as the Tactical Duct tape..:)

the adding weight is now out the window it has a 26 inch bull barrel on it. i do agree with the names tactical witch has been over the top carried away like tatical shirts hats ect... but i hunt from a 2 man tree stand with a rail i put the rifle resting on it to fire from. Im a remington fan my self and i understand the rifle will not have the following as rems do. And the trigger job was done but the oldtimer smith in my area told me that he didnt have to do much to clean it up. I dont have any plans to shoot this rifle in a match ever anyhow and stock it shot better then i can.
