I took a nice Super Blackhawk to a guy that has done work for me before .
He does coatings and lite gun repair .
This spring he did a Ruger Super Blackhawk and it was very nice .
I gun was dropped off in Sept mid month and told 4 weeks(ok fine) . At 9 weeks I called and was told it was done and he had sent an e-mail (I never got one) Yesterday I drove to his shop The Ruger was setting on a stool and I paid him for his work .(did not look at the gun my mistake) This is were it gets strange as we talked he pick the gun up and just held it ? We walked out to my truck and his moved to the door and ask if I would like the gun in the back seat ? He opened the back door and set the gun on the floor in the back seat ? (fine) We said our good buys and I drove away . When I got home (90 miles) I took the Ruger and some other stuff in side the gun set for about an hour . I thought I would take it out and set the sights and play a little with it . The coating was very nice but the cylinder
will not lockup the pawl does not set in the cutout of the cylinder , I think the coating is just to thick than I see the firing pin is stuck out and will not retract . No big deal not happy but ok I will take the thing apart . I can not remove the base pin(I tried everything short of beating on it) .
Now I know why he picked it up and took it to my truck for me . He now has a young guy working for him I think the kid put my Ruger together .
I am not taking it back but will take it apart myself and fix it .
