Back in the 1911 fold

Tonight I picked up my new 1911A1, a Springfield Loaded Stainless. I used to own a 1945-vintage 1911A1 with U.S.Army marks that I sadly had to let go during a family emergency on Christmas, so I only got to enjoy my very own 1911 for a month or two. Ever since I lost that gun, I've been eyeing 1911s in gun store showcases, trying to decide on a full-sized model.

Coincidentally, this Springfield 1911 is also the first gun I bought brand new since April or May...my recent collecting binge of fine, used *&* wheelguns netted me 10 good guns, every last one of them pre-owned.

I'll be taking this one out to the range this weekend, and I hope she shoots as sweet as she looks.

As the 1911 approaches the centennial of its birth, its popularity has yet to wane. John "Moses" Browning is God's prophet on Earth.

That's the one I wish I would have gotten instead of the parkerized model. I hate the feel of the finish on mine and it doesn't get shot because of it.:(

I felt the same way when I sold my S.A. Loaded. Ever since then, I felt "empty" inside and I was really getting dissapointed with my "combat tupperware". Then there just happen to be an "annual sale" at the local sportshop a couple of weeks ago and I ended up taking home the new Kimber you see below. Wow, it really "brought me to my senses" :D
