Just got back from the big shoot at Friendship Indiana. Been gone for a week
hope you all are behaving. Wife's pistol broke, had to buy another one for a
backup. With a new gun, she came second by 2 X's from first. Daughter got
second in the Jr's pistol. I was only good for one target. Got first tho, a 25 yd
caplock match. Camped out tent style. Rainned. Had a good time tho. Here's
my first place target. The 8 was the first shot. Don't ask me how it happend.

Nice target.
Glad you had a good time.
It always rains during a big match at Friendship.
I used to live right up the road but haven't been back in years.

This is the pistol I use. It is a 32 cal. I use about 14 grs. Swiss powder.
and a "0" Buckshot for the ball. Daughter is 13 and used the same pistol.
Wife has her own, but is like this in style.

Congrats on the fine target you shot! Sorry to hear about the pistol problem though - not a bad idea though of having a spare that any of you can use. I chuckled when I read your comment that it had rained . . when doesn't it at least once during Friendship? LOL Glad you had a good time . . how was the "turn out"? Has attendance dropped due to the economy? I haven't been in a few years - always a great tiem though. Best of luck!

Good shootin.

I know a few shooters who go up to Friendship and they keep tellin' me I need to go up there.
Maybe one of these days.

Phil - I didn't go this year because the wife was a bit under the weather and needed some TLC. I had intended to buy a flintlock pistol and shoot the three gun aggregate this year, but leaving her to cope while I'm off buying another gun was somewhat injudicious, to say the least.

Friendship is a great show. You're really missing something if you haven't been at least once.

You lost me with that non-traditional Buck Rogers pistol.
Sorry, not my flavor.
Still glad you had a good time and the family participated.

Thst style of pistol has been in use at Friendship for over 70 years. We got
there on Sunday and it was crowded. Lots of bikers. It thinned out a little
on Tuesday and on in the week. Turnout was about like last several years.
We always stay for the whole week. Vendor turnout was good. It's just good
to see old friends. Peter was there from England as always. He is a great guy.
Lots of joking around. I was showing him my revolver and telling him there
was no creep in the trigger, and he looks around and say, "You calling me a
Creep" He said creep in England is a insult. LOts of fun.

You should be very, very proud of yourself for showing all of the other shooters both young and old a thing or two.
I know that I am, and I'll bet that every else here is too!
It's certainly a privilege to have gotten to know you and to be able to post on the same internet forums as you do.
You are a shining example of a true sportsman!
Keep up the great work Phil!
I have a feeling that you still have more trophies to win in the future! :)

Thank you very much. I'm just thankful that I'm able to shoot and do the
thinks I like to do. So many friends my age and younger have passed away.
I post the targets not to brag but to show others what black powder pistols
can do, and show others what they do at Friendship. There is room for the
revolvers, and the kind that I shoot, inlines and flintlocks. Were all in this
together. Remember, united we stand, divided we fall. Thanks again.
Phil
