Baby Hammerless

First off I want to say hello I joined back in March but have never posted.
But now that life has settled down some I will be here more often.
My Question now is I have a chance to pick up a Baby Hammerless .22 revolver.
It has pearl handles and is nickle plated, the plating is about 60%.
I got it working pretty good and I took the bullets and powder out of 6 .22 shorts so I could see if it would fire. Well it did all 6 times the thing is the trigger don't return it has to be pushed back to fire again. Is this normal or should there be a return spring? I have no idea what it is worth but he wants to try and get 200$ obo. I don't think it is worth that but I don't want to take advantage of him ether. I have looked at some on the net that are so much nicer for about that much. What do y'all think.

Thanks"

The trigger return spring varies with the model. Some had a flat V spring, but in others it was one arm of a heavy wire spring that also served as the mainspring. The former type often breaks. One can be made by any competent gunsmith. Gunparts Corp. used to list them (under the name Kolb, though they also called the Sedgely) but apparently the parts have run out and they no longer show them. You can Google "baby hammerless" or
"Kolb" for more info, and here is a site with a lot of info:

They were once considered junk, but lately there has grown up a collector interest and ones in top condition are bringing some fancy prices, up around $800.

I had one with a broken spring ( likely a common problem ) & my local guy refused to work on it, & he's pretty good, so you may have to hunt around to find someone willing to work on it...
