Looking for any helpful info regarding the maintenance and service of the Desert Eagle Baby Compact in 40 S&W.

This is a new purchace which I'm still collecting information on. I know the larger version comes with it's own set of problems, however I was told that the Baby Eagle is rock solid and an excellent choice.

If anyone has any feedback I'd appreciate it. Looking specifically for reliabilty info along with resource info.

regards,

Matt

Very satisfied. I went to the range and fired 100 rounds through it. The recoil and muzzel rise were very managable and the accuracy was excellent as well. Cleaning up after a day at the range was simple.

As much as I favor the power of my Colt Commander 45 acp I am trading off to the Baby Eagle 40 s&w as my preferred carry weapon.

The Baby Eagle is basically a fancy, heavier, CZ-75B, with "Dessert Eagle" shaped slide, extended dust cover, polygonal rifling, and slide mounted decocker.

I find my Baby Eagle is slightly more accurate than my CZ. This may be due to the polygonal rifling, or the added weight (softer recoil).

Standard capacity (15 round) CZ factory or Pro-mags will work fine in the Baby Eagle, but the gilded 10 round CZ factory mags do not (slightly different mag release hole). The factory Baby Eagle mags also exchange perfectly with the CZ.

Neat pistol with a unique look, but you can usually find the CZs for less money.

Sorry, I just noticed that you're looking at the .40, and I gave you my experience with the 9mm.
