Baby Browning -Magazine Safety Mechanism

Baby Brownings have a Magazine Safety Mechanism. However, I don't think the magazine safety mechanism on the Baby Browning I am researching works.

Does this happen often? Do Magazine Safety Mechanisms break easily?
 
I have a Browning 1911-22. With the magazine out the trigger fills like the safety is set, no travel...with the magazine in, it depresses a small button in the magazine well and the trigger has full travel again. As I have just had this gun since August(birthday present from the little wife) I can't say if they are prone to breakage. So far mine has been trouble free and really fun to plink with at the range....hope this helps....:)
