A friend has two shotguns and is needing information.
One is a 12 ga. and the other is a 28 ga. Both are O/U "Skeet" shotguns.
He has a gun case for them that is a "Protecto Caddy".
What can you tell me about thses guns such as cost, reliabilty, collectability and etc.?

Thanks,

Miroku is a top Japanese maker. They have built guns for Browning (the Citori) and Charles Daly as well as under their own name. I even have one with an Anschutz trademark.

They are certainly good reliable shooters.
I don't know their dollar value.
Collectability is nil UNLESS the 28 is one of the few made on its own small frame instead of being 28 ga barrels on a 20 ga frame. The only way I would be able to tell is side by side comparison with a 20.

I shot a tournament with an English couple who had Miroku guns that were Identical to Citoris, and of recent manufacture.

However, the Miroku Charles Dalys (Predecessor to the Citori) had hairpin springs rather than the coils, and there is a minor parts issue. Not real bad, though.

Without further information it's hard telling just what you have.

Pictures, markings, etc could help.

At one time I had a 20 guage B.C. Miroku (it was not a Daly but a BC Miroku brand) with 2 barrels. It was probably prior to interchangable chokes as one set was choked Mod/Full and the other set was Mod/Imp Cyl.
It was a great gun and brought down countless Gambel Quail in AZ.
I never had a seconds worth the trouble and consider a Miroku equal to many other O/U guns at a much higher price.
