How many of you remember the North Hollywood shootout. That's the one where two fully armored guys robbed a bank with fully automatic weapons and had a shootout with the LAPD?

When the LAPD got tired of throwing spitballs at the BG's with their 9mm's and other assorted handgun rounds, five police officers ran to B & B and got some real fire power. The owner without question handed the rifles with ammo to the police officers so that they could stop the BG's.

Now,sadly, B & B Gun sales has gone bankrupt and has permanently closed with all their stock going to STevenson's Gun Country in Burbank.

By now, I believe, LAPD has all the lethal rifles that they need....and there goes a part of history on the day that the police needed to get some guns from a civilian.

A sad day indeed.

I got to talk to a couple of the people at B&B on the phone earlier last year. Even though I've never been there, and never bought anything from them (I'm on the east coast), they were very helpful in helping me find the origins of an old Valmet M78 that had no markings.

Nice people, with a definite history of going above and beyond.

I always ordered stuff from Bumble Bee Wholesale when I had an FFL. I guess it went under as well. I heard that one of the guys was moving a bunch of guns off paper to criminals. Any truth to it?

Alledgedly, B & B got in some trouble for charging transfer fees in excess of those allowed by law and keeping guns for an extra 2 days beyond the 10 day waiting period the PRK has. Thats what I heard but I don't know if it really happened. I know the company was protesting the issue. I seriously doubt they were diverting any guns to criminals. They were pretty straight up as far as I'm concerned. I bought 6 handguns from them since 1985. I'm sorry to see them go even though I don't live there now.

I also read last night on the 'Net that Pony Express Gun Shop is gone. That too, was one of the best of the best. I started going to Pony Express in Encino, in 1963. Began buying at B&B in 1975 when they were in the tiny store on Cumpston st.

It's only a short matter of time until the communistnazis who control Kalif., outlaw ALL guns for everyone... except criminals and the "elite." (Is there any difference??)

Hmm... that sucks.

I used to be in there at least once a month when I lived in LA.... Bought a PSS there, all the aftermarket parts on my Springfield 1911, tons of ammo....

I can see it happening to a lot of Kalifornia gun shops under the new Regime...

Always meant to stop by to check out B & B. They came highly recommended at my local range. Never got around to it, now never will.

Kali sucks. Buy what you can while you can, boys and girls. Support your local shops before they, too, go under.
