AZ Quail Season Opened Today

I went out at 6:15am to a place I have seen a large covey every day for the last week. As the time got close to shooting time I stepped into the desert.
I was waiting for the first rush of birds.....well it is now 8:30am and I finaly see 3 birds walking in front of me, I walk a little faster and they take to the air....Bang.....one falls. Then all of a sudden as I am going to retrieve the bird I almost step on another, missed it. The wind picked up and the birds held tight until you almost stepped on them.
My take for opening day....ONE BIRD.
Going to the gun show Sat and looking for something that shoots more than once....

Sounds like my day, but I was ****** since it was my sons first hunt and the area we had scoped out had been pretty well populated with quail. Opening day we see 2  I called it quits around 0930 for the same reason the wind really started to pick up. Trying another spot tomorrow hopefully better results.
