AYA 20 gauge

I'm looking for some information on a gun i'm thinking of purchasing over her in ireland.Its an AYA 20 bore gun .Gun is in great condition. Don't know what model it is. It has 'the countryman' stamped on the top of the barrels if thats any use. Can anyone shed any light on this model regarding age, build quality etc... I'm a little wary particularly regarding the age..serial no is in the region of 583***'s... Can't seem to find anything about this model or perhaps it has a more common name....The only one I can find for sale is on an american website so I thought maybe one of you guys have come upon one somewhere..Thanks in advance!!

Though I am not familiar with that particular model, AYA builds very fine guns.

You'll have to hunt through the list to see if you can find your particular one, and none of them are cheap, but as Bill has already said, they're very high-quality shotguns.

The "Countryman Game Gun" is listed in my Twenty-Sixth Edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values. The problem is there is a typo in the listed values. They start out at $1650 for 98% then drop to $675 for 95%. I think the $1650 is the error as most of the other box locks on the same page are in the 5-600 dollar range.
Anyway, it says they were imported into the U.S 1998-2002. In 12 and 20 gauge.

I believe most of the sidelock and detachable sidelock models are the more expensive. I also understand even the cheaper models were well made for their price.

Maybe someone else can varify the value from a newer Blue Book.
