After watching this video you might feel a little envy, but it's o.k. I felt the same way. LOL!

Unbelievable

He makes it look like a full auto revolver. He's just amazing.

You new guys.:p

This video makes it's rounds every couple months. Do a search, you'll find it's been posted on here many times.

I've seen this awhile ago when it was on tv.

I know he's an exhibition shooter and all, but I wonder how fast his draw is.
That woulda been a lot more impressive if he did that from a holster.

speed shooting

If he did the exact same thing, using a holster, he would be just slightly slower. But so would anyone else trying this, he would still be equally amazing relative to how fast he can do it starting from the holster or as demonstrated compared to what other shooters times would be. I'm pretty sure that if you require that this be done from the holster, that all of a sudden a bunch of shooters wouldn't overtake Jerry and shoot this in a faster time them him.

Not taking anything away from the guy at all but I wonder what the times would be like with a fresh out of the box weapon with no customization or mods whatsoever?

Pretty much just like what you saw. Miculek's revolvers are pretty close to stock. They've had some action work done to smooth them out, but he needs the trigger pulls to be pretty stiff so he gets a quick trigger reset.

I saw Jerry the other night on a special. He is definitely the revolver whiz. But I'll bet most don't know he is just as amazing with an auto. I know I didn't til then.

Jerry Miculek

is the reason they broke IPSC up into Auto and revolver classes. It wasn't that the revolver guys couldn't keep up with the Autos, it was that the auto guys couldn't keep up with Jerry. He used to shoot a model 27 S&W and I believe that he still does with one modified with an 8 round cylinder. I also believe that he was the inspiration behind the 7 shot 686, but I may be wrong about that. If we could all reload that fast we wouldn't need semi autos.:)

So what is he shooting? Someone said .45ACP? I'd like to see how fast he could shoot a .44 Mag. I'm not trying to knock that vid or whatever he was shooting, I'm just saying I'd honestly like to see him shoot a .44, I bet it's a hell of a lot faster than I could shoot one.

Mr. Miculek is more than an exhibition shooter he is a competitor and is very, very fast from the holster. He is only marginally slower from the holster, because that is how he most often shoots.

Actually Mr. Miculek does very little to his guns, they get slick through so much practice. Mr. Miculek typically does add extra power springs for faster hammer falls. S&W did sell the exact 45 ACP revolver he was using for a while, built to his exact specs.

I have seen him do the same thing with a stock Ruger Speed Six 3 inch and he was only marginally slower.

Beyond the fact that he is a phenomenal shooter, he is a great down to earth guy and a great teacher.

His wife is a pretty incredible shooter also!

He teaches classes I highly recommend them.

I just shot video with Jerry a couple of weeks ago, where he did instruction for Gun Talk TV. We'll be posting those in a week or so.

It was fun to watch him shoot, during a demo of safety or some other technique. He's just fast, no matter what he's doing!

Also, you should see him shoot an AR!! He did several piece on shooting an AR-15, and how to be quick with it.

We'll have those up soon.
