Traded a used Glock 30 for a brand spanking new Springfield Loaded Parkerized M1911A1. That is just how hot Glock 30s are in Northern Virginia.

Yeah, I know, the Big Dawg Glock 30 is an awesome .45...

But there is something about a full size all steel 1911... nothing comes close to the feel and handling of a good 1911!!!

I'll miss the Glock... but I love this 1911!!!!

:)

Amen. I bought the parkerized Springfield 1911 A1 Loaded myself last week. I took it to the range Saturday and experienced what I can only call "a little slice of pistol heaven".

Before I went, I thought of my Springfield as my new gun. After I got home, I thought of it as my "First" Springfield--there will be many more.

Now, if I can just find a good deal on a stainless V-10 Champion...

That is the mystic of a 1911. Though, it is heavy and antiquated but still mistify the true gunners.

I guess you won't stop improving it!

Thanks,

I find it interesting that the 1911 was designed in 1910 by John Browning who died in 1926, and it is still pne of the best automatic pistols in the world.

HardBall, it shouldn't suprise you. IF JOHN BROWNING DESIGNED IT (ANYTHING), IT'S STILL "ONE OF THE BEST IN THE wORLD."

Dogger and Gremlin,

Never give in to the Dark Side! Congratulations on your purchases, especially the good trade, Dogger.

If only J.Browning (casting my gaze to the floor in deference) had designed automobiles and computer operating systems.... :)

WHOA!
What a concept!
Imagine if you would for just a second:
Browning OS for your PC... Nothing as fragile as "windows" - no - Browning would have developed "Portals".
If Browning HAD designed a car - what would it have been? I'm thinking SUBURBAN...
Imagine your car or truck that could last 100 years!

I have a special place in my heart for a Springfield V-16 Longslide... :D

I have owned 16 handguns in two years. I keep the on-hand inventory low to keep my lovely bride from flipping like cheetah... she sees the need for firearms for home defense... but not an arsenal's worth. :)
(Gotta keep working on her about that)

Anyway... after flings with Brownings, Sigs, Kahrs, S&W, Glock... I am back to two each 1911s in the stable. And what a good feeling it is! :)

Dogger.....Ask her if the huns are attacking whether she would rather hand you a new loaded gun or try to load just a couple real fast.

That should do it.
:)

Lavan,

her responses come in two varieties:

"What are you, a wimp? You can't defend your family with two handguns, two rifles, and a shotgun?"

or

"Shut up and keep shooting honey, you're distracting me from reloading these mags!" :)
